How We Do It

Better Leaders. Better Results. It's that simple. We improve company performance by delivering exceptional leadership training to leaders of Iowa organizations. The half-day, full-day and multi-day sessions develop key leadership skills of participants that lead to higher company performance. We employ an experiential learning methodology using only research-based coursework. Our workshops are NOT a theoretical leadership discussion coupled with lecture and never-ending PowerPoint slides. We only deliver highly interactive, hands-on, team-based learning that sticks.

Our Leadership

As Principal and Executive Director of Iowa Leadership Academy, Wade Steenhoek is an accomplished executive, entrepreneur and community leader. He is a former Senior Vice President of a leading insurance company where he spent 16 years. In his most recent role, he oversaw customer service, claims, information technology, printing, member fulfillment, quality control and human resources.

Mr. Steenhoek is a community leader in his hometown of Ankeny, the fastest growing city in Iowa. He sits on the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Ankeny School Board Policy Committee and was recently elected to Ankeny's City Council. He also serves on the Upper Iowa University Advisory Committee. He was recently tapped to assist in designing Ankeny's Emerging Leaders Institute, which has enjoyed tremendous success.

He holds a Masters Degree in Adult Learning and Organizational Performance from Drake University, with emphases in Training and Development and Leadership. His undergraduate degree is in marketing from Simpson College.

This broad range of experience provides Mr. Steenhoek with real-world leadership skills and allows him to bring a great deal of breadth to your learning experience.
